5 Places to Visit Before They Vanish

Whether it’s raising sea level, desertification, and torrential monsoons, melting glaciers or oceans acidification. Climate change is rapidly altering the landscape of our planet.
We may be one of the last generations to witness Earth’s most cherished places. Here’s my list of 5 places to see before they completely vanish.

Lake SaifulMalook, Naran Valley, Pakistan

Deforestation has been a major problem all over Pakistan, Naran Valley and lake SaifulMalook have been experiencing rise in temperatures since 1980’s leading to shorter winters every year which is resulting is loss of habitat for the local flora & fauna. The only breather this picture perfect valley got in the last two decades was natural disaster of 8th October after which the road to the lake was destroyed, but as the deforestation continues it’s only a matter of time before the area turns into nature’s great demise.

Glacier National Park MT, USA

Just slightly more than a 100 years ago, there were as many as 150 ancient glaciers strewn through Glacier National Park in MT. By 2005 only 27 remained and those are expected to disappear completely by 2030 if not earlier. Many of the plants and animal species that call this park home depend on cold water for living, meaning the ecosystem of the park stands to change dramatically when the glaciers are gone.

Venice, Italy

Venice during a severe flood in Nov 09 was submerged into water when water level reached 131 cm. Venice has long been sinking, but raising sea levels have made the situation direr. The frequency of floods increase each year, leaving many to wonder how much longer Venice can stay above water.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

It is so large that it can bee seen from space, but the great barrier reef Is disappearing at an alarming rate due to climate change and acidification of the oceans. What took 8000 years of naturals work hours may disappear in our lifetime.!

Maldives

Maldives is the lowest-lying country in the world with a maximum natural ground level of 2.3 meters, and an average of only 1.5 meters above sea level. If sea levels rise too much, the country would earn an unwanted superlative: the first nation to engulfed by ocean of global warming.

Climate Change, Emails and Lies

The change in weather in a particular region or worldwide over a period of time is called climate change. There are various factors for climate change Plate tectonics reconfiguring, Variation in Solar intensity, proximity to the sun, Volcanism, Ocean variability and Human influences. The main factor concerning the world regarding climate change is the Human Influence. The human population has had unprecedented growth over the past centuries and this growth is a major factor for climate change. However the debate where this is true or not now rages on as there are eminent scientists on both side of the argument vehemently defending their views.

There is a furious ongoing debate about the accuracy of data used to support global warming, this controversy has escalated even more since the leak of private emails from the university of East Anglia where most of the research comes from. The initial fears are the data has been doctored and manipulated to make global warming look more extreme a change then it is. This is going to become the main topic at the Copenhagen climate conference which is being attended by nearly all the nations of the world. I guess the need hear is for some common sense to prevail. We cannot deny the fact that human interaction with earth on such proportions that we can effect the climate and alter it by our combined actions. The manipulation of data is something unfortunate and it should not cloud our judgment, we should remain focused on the path to try bringing our actions in line with mother nature and try and exist in perfect harmony as our ancestors did for thousands of years.

GLOBAL WARMING

GLOBAL WARMING IS A REALITY.
GLOBAL WARMING IS A CHAIN REACTION.
GLOBAL WARMING IS TAKING IT TOLL ON MANKIND.
GLOBAL WARMING CAN BE STOPPED BY CONSCIOUS DECISIONS.

GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming means increase in the average temperature of Earth’s surface air and oceans. Global warming is basically increasing greenhouse gas concentrations resulting from human activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation. Due to Global Warming Global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the last century. According to IPCC natural phenomena such as solar variation and volcanoes produced most of the Global warming from pre-industrial times to 1950. Global warming increases with the increase in human’s carbon foot print. Global warming is a calculated and agreed upon phenomena and many are considering Global Warming as a bigger threat to man kind then a 3rd world war. Accusers accuse irresponsible human developmental and capitalism for Global warming. Honesty demands self accusation for Global warming as every action taken by man kind has a consequence and can contribute towards warming. ECO Watch dogs are blaming Global warming on major industrialized countries. Owing to Global warming an IPCC report indicate that global surface temperature will probably rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century. Increase in Global Warming will cause sea levels to rise and will change the amount and pattern of precipitation, probably including expansion of subtropical deserts, as Global warming is causing continuous retreat of glaciers, permafrost and sea ice is expected, with the Arctic region being particularly affected. Most studies about Global Warming focus on the period up to 2100. However, Global warming is expected to continue beyond 2100 even if emissions stop, because of the large heat capacity of the oceans and the long lifetime of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Global Warming’s other likely effects include shrinkage of the Amazon rainforest and Boreal forests. Global Warming is being blamed for sudden increases in the intensity of extreme weather events such as floods, tsunamis and acidic rains. Extinctions of many species and changes in agricultural yields are credited on Global Warming too. Global warming continues to be a hot Political and public agenda.

Sustainable living tip of the day

Sustainable living tip of the day is to check your taps for leaks. its sustainable to add a new washer to stop that drip. One drip per second wastes around 1200 litres of water in a year, that’s around 4 litres a day.

SAVE THE PLANET OR SAVE THE HUMANS

Global warming, failing planet or failing human race...
Oh no! I’m not trying to deny global warming, its here for sure, my modest attempt is just to elucidate that nature is so perfect that there is no chance of this planet failing at all. In fact things such as climate change, Raising sea levels, glacier retreat, ARCTIC shrinkage all that we know as the effects of global warming are simply earths attempt in a very calculated and systematic manner to maintain the delicate balance of nature. Extreme weather, tropical diseases & changes in the timing of seasonal patterns in ecosystems all this is how planet earth is taking a toll on mankind for its revitalization.
Let’s just make it simple; every action has an equal but an opposite reaction. Our action have been very careless for the past 3 centuries, but for 2 centuries, Earth kept quite, just an indication here and an indication there, some times floods and some times drought, that’s it, not much was done by earth against humans. But all of sudden the amazing industrial revolution starts, with fossil fuel feeding our hunger of desire and consumption, so much so that the capitalists made sure that after the world war 2 environment friendly and cost efficient compressed air engine, was eliminated from the text books and a propaganda of poor efficiency was started against it while it was already being used for public transport during the late 18th century.
Getting back to our topic, is this planet failing due to global warming, or is it the human race failing on daily bases because of its greed and careless attitude towards mother earth. In my opinion with a bit of common sense and a keener observation it’s clear that the human race is losing this battle badly, a tsunami has not done any thing to the planet, it only washed humans out of its way, some bit of land was lost for sure, with human foot prints on it, but just to be more productive under the water. Nature is not weak in fact its strong, strong enough to develop new coral reef on the base rocks for palm island in Dubai, this make her very adaptive as well.
Every action of nature, minor or disastrous is going to lead to a much more prosperous earth, and a very insecure human race. Drought brings famine, which leads to human migration; but the land stays back, because it can wait for rain, to sprout lush green vegetation which if not exploited by humans may turn into a very productive rain forest.
Mankind is losing a lot inform of failing food, arid land, lack of fresh water, wild life species, plants and trees. But we did gain a lot as well, actually quite a lot, who can deny the amazing effects of political instability and war leading to hunger and poverty. Then there are all those diseases we and our children are inheriting, only air- pollution-related deaths are caused by asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, lung disease, heart disease, and respiratory allergies about 40% of fatalities are due to power plant emissions and 50%, to on- and off road vehicle emissions. Cancer and water born disease such as Hepatitis and many stomach problems are the gifts of pollution that is the fruit of our careless and for granted behaviors towards Earth or I may say towards Mankind.
So the slogan should be save the humans. Not save the planet, because the planet is not going anywhere, but the humans might end up rotting, fertilizing the planet to bud life again.
