Aeroturbine Next Generation Wind Energy.

Aero turbines can be easily considered as the next generation of small-scale wind energy generation. As most of us are aware that installing a windmill on individual basis is not preferable because of both, cost and production efficiency, and that’s why till now wind energy was limited to windy regions all over the world, other factors like noise pollution and dangers of bird killing made windmills non popular amongst many for the past 2 decades. But all this is about to change with the invention of Double-helix wind turbine, more commonly known as aero turbines. This invention of DR. Bill Becker of university Illinois & Chicago is down to earth and simple when it comes to design but the approach to harvest the wind energy is very efficient and cost effective. The propellers of these aero turbines look more like an electric beater then a blade, because these wind turbines are absolutely silent and not very large they can be easily placed on rooftops and fixed on windy edges of high raised buildings. Aero turbines are caged in a pipe frame are light in weight, and slow moving wind energy generators so they do not propose any threat to wildlife, and work fine in heavy snow fall. Hence special zoning, code exemptions or high insurance rates are not required for installing these wind machines. With two different types of propellers infused in the same structure aero turbines are efficient starters and efficient producers, at the same time. The inner savonius wind blades are efficient starters, with low production rate and start working in wind speed as low as 6mph, no matter if the wind is gusting and irregular or non directional, while the outer darius wind blades start working in high winds, though these blades are poor starter but efficient producers, and can continue to generate electricity up to 70 mph., yet there unique design prevents them from a run away in high winds. Aerotecture International has developed two models, 510V AND 520H with a production capacity of 1kw and 1.8kw respectively. The cost of these aero turbines is $15,000 for the 510V and $21,000 for 520H, which is quite high but is expected to reduce with mass production, but the simplicity of the design has actually made it possible for many to attempt and make one for personal use. Once the technology hits China, the cost should drop to as low as $ 1500 to $ 2000 a unit or may be even lower which is not bad for such a low maintenance windturbine. It wont be a surprise to find these wind machines installed under the bridges or on the roof tops of urban sky scrapers, maybe railway stations or highways to full fill the never ending energy needs.

Ride a bicycle for producing electricity.

Motivation for fitness and environment friendliness with a different approach, now ride a bicycle and charge your cell phone, or a battery that can power your laptop. Motorola and another group of individuals developed the technology, and made it public during the Coachella Music & arts Festival energy factory, a three-day event visited by almost 60000 people every day. Some 24 bikes were setup at the festival and visitors were provoked to paddle the bicycles for generating electricity directly using human power input.
The design at the Festival included a bike, trainer stand, an alternator and a 12V battery.Human energy is directly being harnessed on bicycles, from the early age of cycling, inform of the mini dynamo motor attached to the rare wheel of the cycles, that powered the torch placed on the handle of the bicycle. Who knows some day we might as well start using the good old flour and water mills.

Plastic bags ban in Pakistan

Following the foot steps of Zanzibar and other nations of the world like China and Israel the newly elected Pakistani national assembly agreed upon banning the use of plastic bags for grocery and other daily use commodities. Mr. Riaz Fitiana an opposition member presented the bill for the ban on 22nd of April 23, 2008 for a vote which was not only supported by the federal Minster for environment Mr. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, but was also approved by majority of members of the national assembly.
This bill of ban on the use of plastic bags should bring a considerable difference in not only pollution altogether but should also reduce the sight pollution, as these plastic bags make 80 % of the litter that can be seen on the streets all over the country. This bill also suggested the use of biodegradable shopping bags, and insists on the government to take an initiative for bringing these bags to the market and the consumer.

Air-Powered Car

Ladies and Gentlemen: Imagine a vehicle that will runs on air, would do over 100 gas-equivalent mpg and over 90 mph, with zero C02 emissions, seats six, with plenty of space for luggage, no safety corners, and costs no more than an average economy to mid-size vehicle. The vehicle is powered by the Compressed Air Engine (CAE) developed by Motor Development International (MDI), a 15-year old company based in Nice, France, and headed by inventor and Formula One race car engineer, Guy Negre. ZPM is the exclusive representative for MDI in the United States.

Now this is cut throat environment friendly product, which should prove to be hole in the fat pockets of fossil fuel trading vampire capitalists. I’m not being rude these oil merchants deprived the mankind from not only cheap transportation solution but also contributed directly and indirectly towards air pollution, thus causing lung cancer, and many other ENT diseases, by making sure that air powered engines and this technology was eliminated from the text books for ever. If this ugly crime was not committed by these capitalists this might have been a much cleaner and environment friendly era.

Air powered engines is nothing new, traces of this technology can be easily ford being practically implemented in 1872.

It time to show our commitment towards environment and betterment of mankind by making sure that we order are air cars as soon as they are launched in USA during the financial year 2009-2010.

Water Theater

A new “Water Theater” is being planned for the Canary Islands which will not only be a seaside cultural center for performing arts, but will also serve as an innovative desalination plant. The architecture of the sea-facing wall is such that cool sea water is pumped into tubes then sprayed on a membrane through which sun-warmed air flows. The warm air over the cooler tubes causes the condensation of fresh water which drips into collecting drains below. This is essentially a giant solar convection powered dehumidifier that should be able to provide enough fresh water for an entire city! It also combines aesthetic architecture with renewable resource management and doubles as a theater that benefits the entire community.
